The 2008 edition of the Crawford County Kid's Fishing Derby is set for Saturday, June 7, 2008 from 9am to Noon at Outhwaite Reservoir in Bucyrus.
The Crawford County Kid's Fishing Derby is a FREE EVENT designed to introduce kids to the joys of fishing and the outdoors. Kids 16 years old and younger are not required by ODNR (Ohio Department of Natural Resources) regulations to have a fishing license. Adults assiting a child/children during the event do not need a fishing license either, per ODNR regulations. The goal of this event is to bring kids and their adults (parents, grandparents, etc) to an event that promotes wholesome family entertainment. The outdoors is a precious resource that often gets overlooked by many because we take it for granted.
There will be lots of freebies for kids. We will raffle off prizes at the end of the event, which will include a Grand Prize drawing. The Grand Prize has yet to be determined, and will be announced at a later date.
After tremendous responses in 2006 and 2007, the 2008 event is shaping up to be an even more exciting day for kids and adults alike. Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 7, 2007 from 9am to Noon at Outhwaite Reservoir, just north of Bucyrus on State Route 98.
